Professional Background

Bill has his own Consulting and Computer Software sales business (Spectrascan Pty Ltd) specialising in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Bill's career began with the Department of Lands and Surveys (later to become the Department of Land Administration) as a cadet Land Surveyor in 1965. After becoming a Licensed Surveyor in 1970, Bill spent 6 years becoming familiar with the rural areas of Western Australia, from the extreme south to the extreme north.

Developing and interest in computers Bill became involved in computer mapping and more particularly in using satellite data to produce images of the earth's resources using remote sensing techniques.

Bill started Spectrascan along with two others in 1987 and has pursued activities in these areas since that time.

Leisure activities are Rotary, following his son's Australian Rules Football career and of course the inevitable time at the computer keyboard.
